I once read a book [ yes I do sometimes ] where it said a photographer should celebrate every success, no matter how small. So in the spirit of that book and in the hope that I can build on these successes, I will share them with you. After entering the Veolia International Wildlife Photographer of the year Competition for the past few years, 2011 brought some success – 2 of my images reached the semi-final stage!
Of course they weren’t winners, or indeed runners-up, but they are proof that I must be doing something right at least some of the time.
It is always difficult to choose what to enter, as these competitions are notoriously difficult to gauge and of course we all disagree with the wining choices.
Well, here are my actual images, displayed below – there’s always next year.
Incidentally, the image above was the one Chris Packham held up when they were looking at the 2011 Countryfile Calendar images – sadly he then put it down again – no taste !
